The original Pizza Man restaurant opened on November 15, 1970 at the northeast corner of East North and North Oakland avenues as a small carry-out pizza restaurant. On January 18th 2010, Pizza Man burned to the ground in a tragic fire, along with the other establishments and apartments in the building. It took three years to find the perfect new location and the right friendly Pizza Man fans to invest in its resurgence. Pizza Man has gone to great lengths to recreate the familiar, friendly, and eclectic old-world atmosphere with warmth and intimacy that was loved by so many during the forty years in the original location. The new Pizza Man location at The Mayfair Collection is also being designed with its patrons in mind — to bring back the old memories and inspire many new ones.
